McLaren has decided to race in Singapore and Japan with a special color scheme to celebrate its partnership with crypto company OKX.

In addition to its orange colors, Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris' MCL36 will feature neon pink parts and Cyberpunk-inspired illustrations. This heralds the return of Formula 1 to Asia for the first time since 2019.

The new color scheme will be the product of a joint venture between McLaren and crypto company OKX called 'Future Mode'. Both drivers' racing suits will also be updated for the weekend in Singapore and Japan.

According to McLaren CEO Zak Brown, F1's return to Asia will be a great opportunity to capture more of the market here.

"We are delighted to celebrate our partnership with OKX with this striking and vibrant color scheme for racing in Asia," said Brown.

"Both sides share the same attitude of being forward-thinking and constantly pushing the boundaries. The Future Mode initiative is a great opportunity to showcase these values on the global stage."

"It's great that we are coming back to Singapore and Japan. These tracks will be great for us to celebrate our partnership."

Haider Rafique, OKX's Marketing Director, is also very pleased with the initiative.

"It was a lot of fun to create this color scheme with McLaren. This color scheme announces the arrival of bold new technologies."

"This is what OKX stands for. We are celebrating the impact of Web3 with cyberpunk design. We can make this collaboration more visible on the runway. This forward-looking design, which will be used in Singapore, reflects the 24/7 nature of OKX and the crypto markets that never sleep."

To celebrate the unique look, McLaren will also produce a limited edition T-shirt design. The new color scheme will also be available in the F1 2022 game next month.
